Rainbow Childcare Centre
0-5 year olds
The current OFSTED Registered, Rainbow Childcare Centre opened on the 10th January 2005. Rainbow Child Care Centre offers ‘wrap around’ childcare for 30 children from 0 to 5 years of age. Funding for this venture is from Bexhill & Sidley Sure Start and Neighbourhood Nursery Initiative. Both schemes offered capital and revenue funding. East Sussex County Councils Early Years Development and Childcare are supporting SCA in accessing quality assurance accreditation.
The Nursery is registered for 30 full day care places; priority will be given to families living in Sidley and Bexhill. Rainbow takes children from birth to 5 years; the Nursery has three separate areas, which are:
- Sunshine Room, which takes babies from birth to 2 years
- Ocean Room, which takes toddlers aged 2-3 years
- Garden Room, which takes pre-school children, aged 3-5 years
Each room follows individual weekly plans, which are in line with ‘Birth to 3 Matters’ and the ‘Foundation Stage Curriculum’, to ensure that children have activities and experiences, which suit their individual attainment. Children’s individual needs will always be respected.
Children will have ‘Key Workers’ who will observe, assess and plan for a small group of children within a room. Staff and parents are encouraged to build up good relationships; sharing information about the child’s progress on a regular basis.
Rainbow has the ethos of’ Learning through Play’ and provides a wide range of play opportunities, both inside and outside of the Centre to allow children creative, learning and social experiences.
